I tried and didn’t succeed. To find a definition for Roses Bar is an impossible task. The entrance is already shocking, there’s a Michael Jackson’s picture adorned with red roses hanging next to the door and the inside exceeds this first image by far. You’ll see pompous lamps with golden finishes, colorful flowers everywhere, red and pink walls, leopard prints and photos of the Virgin Mary and Madonna living in the same place. Every little corner and tiny surface are covered with unexpected details creating a totally unique aesthetic.
And for some strange reason, this bizarre mix manages to make you feel like at home. In Roses everything is allowed: the rules disappear once you walk through the main door, what is normal becomes strange and the what is strange becomes normal.
The bar is very small, it is divided into two areas, the one with the bar and another room with sofas, chairs and a little space in the center to dance. The decoration of the toilets is one of the hits that you can not ignore, it is 100% unforgivable not sneak a peak after a couple of beers.
The U-bahn brings you up to Kottbusser Tor (U1, U8) and after a short walk you arrive at Oranienstraße, 187, where the bar is located. And if you don’t want the party to stop here, check out our bars and clubs section.
